Bluesounder™ is a Bluetooth® based bite alarm system allowing the remote indication of bites using a Bluetooth® enabled mobile phone.

Most people carry mobile phones when fishing but there are no fishing devices which utilise Bluetooth® systems.

Many people wrongly believe Bluetooth® is power hungry - when it is sending or receiving data it is - but NOT when used in the standby mode as exploited by Bluesounder™.

Most Bluetooth® mobile phones which can run apps will be able to use Bluesounder™ systems. A test app is available which will discover if your phone is likely to work with the main app. This ensures that you don't buy a system only to discover your phone is a rare one which is not compatible.

The first in a series of Bluesounder™ products is a sounder box which connects with up to four bite alarms via standard 2.5mm plugs.

The app displays a screen divided into four sections in which each section represents an alarm. Each of these sections has a colour assigned to it by the user from a choice of ten and each has a tone running from high to low and from left to right.

Pairing is only required once per system and once an alarm connects to your phone (usually under two seconds) via the Bluesounder™, the response is beep for beep.

Your phone can be set to flash and vibrate in response to alarm signals and will remain active for thirty seconds after the last beep before disconnecting.

The Bluesounder™ will send a low battery warning once it's batteries (2 x AA) become low.

The app will periodically monitor the Bluesounder™ and check it is within range so you don't miss a bite and is useful as an anti-theft feature.
